“The Arctic Is Melting, Venice Is Sinking: Does That Mean We Shouldn’t Visit Them?” on Thrillist
“I stood on the prow of the ship and watched as a giant chunk of ice began to break away from a glacier. The sound of the extending crack was like a timpani rumbling, crescendoing until the cymbal crash of the ice falling hundreds of feet into the water. My fellow passengers screamed—and filmed videos to share with their friends. We were witnessing something amazing and horrible at the same time.”

100 Alaska Fresh Poems 2026
My collection of 10 poems, titled “Finding Your Bearings,” will featured in the inaugural volume, to be published in 2026.
This collection follows my own journey to Alaska and the subsequent wonder and reckoning I experienced. It traces wide-eyed naiveté that eventually gives way to a deeper appreciation and connection to the landscape. From the tide pools of Homer and the mountains of the Chugach, to the tundra of Denali and the glaciers of the Prince William Sound, the natural world served as my writing desk. This collection is a love letter to the landscapes of Alaska.
