100 Alaska Fresh Poems 2026

My collection of 10 poems, titled “Finding Your Bearings,” will featured in the inaugural volume.

This collection follows my journey to Alaska and the subsequent wonder and reckoning I experienced over the course of my first year. It traces wide-eyed naiveté that eventually gives way to a deeper appreciation of the landscape. As I try to orient myself to this place, each season yields new observations and realizations. In these incredible wild spaces, I reckon with deeper truths about myself, as well as the changing world around me. From the Chugach mountains and Denali tundra to the tide pools of Homer and waves of the Prince William Sound, the natural world served as my writing desk. This collection is a love letter to the landscapes of Alaska, as well as an unfinished story. Alaska will keep evolving in a warming world, and so will I.
